Share your own layout publicly

Publish one of your saved layouts to the Community feed so other OpenLumen users can see and comment on it.

Sharing is how OpenLumen grows. Even one well-documented layout can teach a lot of people, and the conversation in the discussion panel often improves the design itself.

  1. Open the layout you want to share

From My Layouts, click into the layout you'd like to publish. Make sure the layout is in good shape first — proofread the name, description, and area labels, since those will be what other people see.

  2. Click Share

In the top-right of the Layout Designer, click Share. The Share dialog opens with three options: Local only, Private link, and Public.

  3. Switch to Public

Pick Public and confirm. OpenLumen creates a public URL of the form /user/<your-nickname>/layout/<slug> and adds the layout to the Community feed.

You'll be reminded that public layouts are shared under a community license: original creators retain copyright, and copying is permitted with attribution.

  4. Manage replies

Once your layout is public you'll start receiving notifications when other users leave comments. The discussion panel works the same as on any other public layout — reply to feedback, mark questions as resolved, and edit your layout in response to good suggestions.

You can revoke public visibility at any time from the same Share dialog. The discussion history is preserved if you re-publish later.
